A man has been charged after two homes in Oxenford had their windows smashed and a shot fired through the front glass.

Two people allegedly used a golf club to smash the window of one of the Lister Street homes around 4am on Wednesday before they were chased away by neighbours.

A short time later, a bullet was fired through the window of a neighbouring property.

Fortunately no one was injured, but the early morning violence left residents terrified and fearing for their lives.

Following ongoing investigations, police arrested a 23-year-old Logan man in Manly West on Thursday afternoon.

He has since been charged with a string of offences including dangerous conduct with a weapon, extortion with intent to gain benefit and attempted enter dwelling.

He’s also been charged with intent at night threatens violence whilst armed, wilful damage and attempted enter dwelling with intent by break at night.

The man was refused police bail to front Cleveland Magistrates Court today.

Police have confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing.
