Police have today charged a man over two Gold Coast shootings that happened last month, one in Coolangatta and another in Arundel.
The man has been in custody since June 9, arrested following a 20-hour long siege in Nerang.
He has already been charged over an alleged armed carjacking that happened on June 3 in Helensvale.
In Coolangatta on June 4, a family car was shot at while travelling along Tweed Street.
The bullet grazed the neck of a 55-year-old father, who was sitting in the front passenger seat.
Two days later on June 6, a firearm was discharged into the Arundel Police Beat just before 4am.
At least two shots were fired from a sedan with one bullet hitting the front glass door and another bullet hitting a police vehicle parked outside the Napper Road property.
Thankfully, noone was injured during the Arundel shooting.
Police say they have charged the 32-year-old Labrador man today following a full-scale investigation.
“In relation to the Coolangatta shooting he has been charged with one count each of dangerous conduct with weapon and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed,” a QPS statement says.
“In relation to the Arundel shooting he has been charged with one count each of dangerous conduct with weapon and wilful damage of police property.”
He will front Southport Magistrates Court on August 9.
