A man has been charged over an alleged tomahawk attack at a shopping centre in Tweed Heads earlier this month.
A 25-year-old man was allegedly slashed across the face with the weapon following an altercation at Tweed City Shopping Centre on the afternoon of July 11.
The man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition but has since been released.
Following a three-week manhunt, Police arrested a 23-year-old man at Tweed Heads Police Station.
He has since been charged with reckless wounding in company.
The man is due to front Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday.
Police are still investigating the alleged attack and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has footage of the attack to come forward.
