A man has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly threatening three people with a knife following a crash on the Gold Coast.
A Mazda BT-50 and a Toyota Corolla collided along Oxley Drive in Hollywell around 4.40pm on Saturday.
Following the crash, the three people in the Mazda got out of the vehicle before they were allegedly driven at by the man in the Corolla.
“It is alleged the driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old Southport man, drove dangerously towards them striking the vacant Mazda,” Queensland Police said.
The man then jumped out of his car, threatening the trio with a knife, before taking off from the scene.
Police tracked the man’s car all the way to Springwood where he was eventually taken into custody.
He has since been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, going armed so as to cause fear, unlicensed driving and endangering the safe use of a vehicle by throwing an object.
The man was refused police bail to front Southport Magistrates Court today.
