A young man has been charged over a brazen two-week crime spree across the Gold Coast and Logan.

The 18-year-old was taken into custody on Tuesday after investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Logan.

Police allege the man had been behind a number of armed robberies at multiple petrol stations, convenience stores, and other businesses in Underwood, Holmview, Darra, Ormeau, Hillcrest, and Park Ridge between September 20 and October 1.

During the search of the home earlier this week, police also uncovered firearms and ammunition, along with items suspected of being stolen including cigarettes and jewellery.

The Crestmead man has been charged with five counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted break and enter, five counts of break and enter, and two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles.

He was due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court yesterday.

Investigations are continuing to appeal for anyone with further information related to the incidents to come forward.
