A man has been charged with arson over a fire that tore through a local industrial business in Ormeau over the weekend.
Police allege the 53-year-old broke into the building around 9.40pm Saturday night and damaged several electronics and machinery.
He’s then accused of using an accelerant to start the blaze before fleeing the scene.
Several firefighters spent over an hour trying to get the inferno under control.
Police established a crime scene while investigations were conducted.
The man, from Yarrabilba, was arrested overnight and has been charged with enter premises with intent, wilful damage and arson.
Police bail was denied and he is expected to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
