A man has been charged over the violent robbery of a tool shop in Biggera Waters.
The 27-year-old is accused of storming the Brisbane Road business around 5.20pm on Wednesday before attacking the 57-year-old worker.
He then allegedly stole a ‘quantity of tools’ before fleeing the scene in a Toyota Corolla which was spotted by Polair travelling towards Pimpama.
Police swarmed a unit complex just after 6pm, where they took the man into custody without incident.
A knife was also uncovered from the vehicle.
The Pimpama man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing, fraud, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He’s due to front Southport Magistrates Court today.
The male staff member suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
