A woman has been left traumatised following a shocking road rage incident on the Gold Coast.
The woman contacted police around 2.45pm on Sunday to report that she was being followed by a man in a blue Toyota Camry following a minor incident along Ashmore Road in Benowa.
“The vehicle had actually rammed the victim’s vehicle and it was quite serious,” Acting Superintendent Scott Knowles told the ABC.
By the time police arrived, the man had already fled, however, he was tracked down by officers in Molendinar around an hour later.
“He was drug tested and found to be under the influence of drugs at the time,” Acting Supt Knowles said.
The 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with a string of offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving under the influence.
Police are appealing for anyone with dash-cam of the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident to come forward as investigations continue.
