A 66-year-old man has been charged after two men were allegedly stabbed on the Gold Coast.
Police rushed to the car park of a shopping centre complex along Explorers Way in Highland Park on Saturday night following reports multiple people had been injured.
“Initial information indicates at approximately 8pm, two men who are not known to each other became involved in an altercation,” Queensland Police said.
Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old Highland Park man with a stab wound to his back and a 42-year-old man, also from Highland Park, with a wound to his face.
Both men were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The older man was taken into custody at the scene.
He has since been charged with two counts of wounding and one count of possessing a knife in a public place.
He has been denied police bail and is due to front Southport Magistrates Court today.
