Man charged after luxury vehicle allegedly stolen from car dealership

A man has been charged after allegedly stealing a luxury vehicle from a car dealership on the northern Gold Coast.

The man is accused of taking a blue Mercedes Benz SLC300 from the dealership in Helensvale around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Police began tracking the vehicle, spotting it on Abraham Rd in Upper Coomera a short time later.

The car then came to a stop on California Drive in Oxenford at around 4pm where the male driver was arrested without incident.

The 28-year-old Upper Coomera man has since been charged with one count each of robbery with violence and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. 

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
