A manhunt is underway after a man was allegedly brutally bashed and robbed outside a unit in Labrador.

According to police, the 49-year-old man from Hope Island was waiting outside a unit block on Marine Parade around 2.30am on June 29, when he was approached by a man who was not known to him.

He was allegedly assaulted by the stranger, leaving him with a broken hand, lacerated eye socket and facial bruising.

His alleged attacker then stole his keys and wallet and remains at large.

As investigations continue, police have today released vision of a man they believe can assist.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.
