UPDATE | A man is in custody after a siege at a home in Nerang prompted an emergency declaration across parts of the suburb.
Officers went to a home around 5.20pm on Thursday, identifying a threat to public safety.
An exclusion zone was established with local residents around Crusader Way, Weedons Rd and Centurion Crescent ordered to stay indoors.
Specialist Police arrived on the scene a short time later to undertake negotiations with a man holed up inside.
A man in his 30s was taken into custody around 9pm with witnesses reporting the offender was dragged from the home by tactical officers.
No one was injured during the incident and investigations are continuing.
