A busy street in Southport will be closed off for several hours this morning because of fallen powerlines.
It happened along Queen Street in the early hours on Thursday morning.
Queensland Police have confirmed that the westbound lanes will be closed for “several hours” as authorities work to fix the issue.
Motorists are being warned of significant delays in the area as a result and are being asked to avoid the area if possible
There are also around 70 homes and businesses in the nearby area which are without power as a result.
