Motorists are being warned of hefty delays southbound on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon following a nasty crash.
A car lost control and slammed into a guard rail at Molendinar just after midday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC that at this stage it looks like the elderly driver may have suffered a medical episode before crashing.
The man, aged in his 80s, is currently being treated at the scene by paramedics but is believed to be stable.
Traffic is quickly growing in the area, with delays currently all the way back to Helensvale.
Motorists are being urged to seek alternative routes or allow for extra travel time.
