Investigations are underway following a fire at a retirement village in Bethania overnight.
Emergency crews rushed to the complex along Snedden Street just after 10pm, following reports one of the units was engulfed in flames.
It forced more than 50 elderly residents to be evacuated as firefights battled the blaze.
The fire was quickly brought under control, however, the unit was completely gutted.
A woman in her 60s, from a neighbouring unit, suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to Logan Hospital in a stable condition.
Authorities have returned to the scene this morning to try and establish what caused the fire.
Investigations continue.
