With the help of some of the brightest stars from the Gold Coast, Lismore residents are gearing up to celebrate their resilience and community spirit a year after being hit hard by the devastating floods of 2022.
One of the Gold Coast’s top musicians, ARIA award-winning country music star Casey Barnes, and Brisbane-born indie country artist Amy Sheppard, are set to headline the ‘From the Heart’ community concert in Lismore on Sunday 5 March 2023, to help reconnect, heal, and bring back the joy of life to the heart of the town.
Brian Cadd and The Little Steely Bros, Darlinghurst, and The Buckleys will also be performing for the general public and tickets are now on sale.
The concert is part of the ‘Lismore Opening Our Heart’ event series which features a range of free and ticketed events to celebrate the strength, resilience, and community spirit of the people of Lismore and the Northern Rivers region.
The event highlights include a non-denominational service at Mortimer Oval, an all-ages free community music event featuring over 20 local bands, and a Legends of the Game 20/20 Cricket Picnic Day, where cricket legend Adam Gilchrist will team up with some of Australia’s biggest names in cricket.
Additionally, there’s the Opera in the Gardens, a free community event featuring four of Australia’s premier opera and theatre voices.
‘Lismore Opening Our Heart’ presents a unique opportunity for Gold Coasters to support the people of Lismore in their time of need.
It will run from Tuesday 28 February to Sunday 19 March, 2023. For more event details and tickets visit: visitlismore.com.au
