Residents across a large part of the Gold Coast are being warned of smoke haze this morning as a massive rubbish fire continues to burn.

The blaze started at a facility along Jade Drive in Molendinar around 4.00am on Sunday.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has said multiple crews are still working to get the blaze out.

Crews are working to bring the fire under control and it is generating a large amount of smoke in the area,” QFES said in a statement.

“Nearby residents should close their windows and doors, and those suffering from a respiratory condition should keep their medications close by.”
