LATEST @ 2.20PM: A Brisbane man has had his luxury Lamborghini seized and faces drink driving charges after crashing into a parked car in Broadbeach Waters on Wednesday night.
Police allege the 32-year-old Pallara man was driving along Rio Vista Boulevard around 8.30pm when he “lost control” of his 2017 turquoise Lamborghini Huracan.
The luxury vehicle smashed into the rear of a parked unoccupied 2021 white Toyota Landcruiser.
Broadbeach Police happened to be patrolling the area at the time and watched the incident unfold, breath-testing the man on the spot.
He was arrested following a positive breath test analysis and charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle while under the influence of liquor.
A QPS spokesperson confirmed the man’s Lamborghini has also been seized by police for “mechanical inspection”.
The man has also been charged with failing to display number plates and has had his licence immediately suspended.
He’s been issued with a notice to appear at Southport Magistrates court at a later date.
No injuries were recorded.
EARLIER @ 6.30PM: A Lamborghini driver has found himself in hot water after allegedly crashing into a parked car in Broadbeach Waters.
The driver reportedly lost control at the roundabout of TE Peter Drive and Rio Vista Boulevard around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
Conveniently, the chaos all unfolded in the view of a police car and officer nearby.
It’s not yet known if anyone was injured.
A Queensland Police spokesperson has confirmed the matter is still under investigation.
