Police have released “comfit images” of two men they believe will be able to assist them with investigations into two firebombing attacks on the Gold Coast earlier this year.

The blazes erupted inside two separate businesses at the same complex along Distribution Court at Arundel in June.

The first attack occurred around 3.30am on Saturday June 24, before the offenders returned just four days later, this time targeting Eye Candy Motorsports, a business owned by Instagram influencer Troy Candy.

In an appeal for information two weeks ago, Detective Inspector Mark Proctor said he believes the attackers made a mistake by torching the first business.

“We do believe they are linked, we believe the first fire was an accident and that they got the wrong unit,” Detective Inspector Proctor said.

“We believe they came back a second time and were better prepared and they created much more damage,

“We think the second unit is their intended target.”

Police admit they are still working to find a motive.

“Obviously it’s some sort of payback, or to cause some sort of financial detriment,” Detective Inspector Proctor said.

“His [Troy Candy’s] business is ruined, it’s now closed, it was uninsured.”

Police are urging anyone who recognises the men in the computer-generated images above to come forward as investigations continue.
