A Gold Coast woman has had the surprise of her life after winning $800,000 on Gold Lotto.
The lucky winner held one of the five division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto, which was drawn on Wednesday.
She’s told The Lott she woke her husband up in a frenzy when she found out.
“My husband went to bed early because he was really tired, and I had to wake him up! It was probably the best wake-up he’s ever had,”
“We normally don’t win anything, so we’re on cloud nine,
“I feel on top of the world – I can’t believe it! Initially, I thought we’d won $640. I like to write all the numbers down one by one, and the number 15 was a bit separated, so I thought it was the number one and five,
“I started to get excited because I saw we had five numbers and then I realised, ‘Oh my god! We actually have number 15! We’ve won division one!”
The local woman has always given back to charities and organisations that mean the most to her, and shared that she couldn’t wait to do it all over again with her prize.
She’ll also spend the money on helping her children who have “mortgages up to their eyebrows”.
The winning ticket was purchased at newsXpress in Surfers Paradise.
