Close to 500 homes and businesses are currently without power across the Gold Coast.

At least 247 properties in Ashmore are blacked out, while another 220 properties in Molendinar are without power.

A number of homes in Nerang have also been affected.

It’s not yet known at this stage what has caused the outage.

Energex crews are on scene at the moment working to fix the issue as soon as possible.

Investigations into the cause continue.
