A massive landslip has forced the closure of a major road in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Gold Coast-Springbrook Road has been completely covered with dangerous rockfall, due to the recent deluge of rain the city has experienced.

The road is closed from Neranwood Park to Pine Creek Road to all traffic and cyclists.

It is not yet known how long it will taker to clear the rockfall.

Department of Transport and Main Roads have advised the road will be closed “until further notice”.
