While Queensland-filmed Netflix show Boy Swallows Universe is expected to clean-up once again after picking up six awrds at Wednesday night’s AACTA Industry Gala.

Mr Trewhell says the Gold Coast is the perfect city to host the AACTA’s.

“It fits in with a complementary strategy we have with the amazing city of Gold Coast to try and grow the Australian film and television industry,

“The Gold Coast is one of the places where this industry can really grow and thrive. It’s a beautiful spot and that’s the reason why we’re here,

“It’s got all the key fundamentals you need for high-end film and TV production here. Great locations, facilities and incentives and to top it all off it’s just a really beautiful place with beautiful people. It’s no surprise the big film stars want to come here.”
