LATEST @ 4.50PM | Police have confirmed a motorbike rider has been killed in a horror collision in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The 71-year-old man crashed with a truck travelling in the opposite direction to him along Nerang-Murwillumbah Road in Advancetown at around 11.15am.
The Mount Cotton man suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
It’s understood he had been taking part in a scenic convoy ride when the collision occurred.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is asking for anyone with dashcam footage, or more information about the incident, to contact police.

A QPS spokesperson confirmed they assessed one patient at the scene in a critical condition.
They couldn’t confirm the age or gender of the patient.
Queensland Police say The Forensic Crash Unit has been called in to investigate.
