LATEST @ 2.30PM | A man has miraculously escaped injury following a car crash off a cliff in the Gold Coast hinterland.
A Suzuki Swift ploughed over 30 metres off Main Western Road around 10.40 this morning sparking a search and rescue operation.
The vehicle was found unoccupied but rescue teams eventually heard a male voice yelling out from nearby scrubland.
The man was found and hauled back up to the roadway by a technical rescue firefighter on rope.
He’s been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
EARLIER @ 12.30PM | Fears are held for a motorist after a car ploughed over 30 metres down a cliff in Tamborine Mountain.
It happened just before 11am along Main Western Road.
Rescue Technicians have climbed down the cliff on rope to conduct a search of the vehicle and surrounding bushland.
A QFES spokesperson confirmed they have “located one person in bushland”.
The condition of this person is not yet known.
