A 32-year-old woman has been charged with 77 offences relating to the indecent treatment and grooming of a teenage schoolgirl on the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit launched an investigation in February 2023, after a woman made a complaint to police regarding alleged indecent treatment when she was a teenager from June 2015 to July 2016.
It’s alleged the two met at a local school and the accused had contact with the girl inside and outside the classroom on numerous occasions.
Police today charged the Hope Island woman with 75 counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and one count each of grooming and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
She is due to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on August 2.
Detectives are appealing for information regarding any possible further crimes, urging anyone with information, or interactions of a similar nature, to contact Crime Stoppers or Policelink.
Investigations are ongoing.
