A Gold Coast foundation is calling on the local community to join forces and help raise $50,000 for kids with autism this week.
Little Grubbs Orchard, which provides behavioural support, occupational therapy and therapeutic programs for kids with neuro-developmental needs, will host its first ever fundraiser luncheon at Southport Yacht Club on Friday 17, February.
Founder Lily Grubb is urging the community to dig deep to help provide therapy supports and furniture for their new children’s clinic space.
“We really want to succeed for our kids, they are the primary focus for us, that’s what drives us and inspires us,” Ms Grubb said.
“We need the Gold Coast community to get behind us and support our children by attending our event or donating to the foundation.
“The children deserve to have an opportunity to live a full life and be independent to enjoy the things they want to do,” she said.

Ms Grubb, who is who is also a mother to two children on the Autism Spectrum, understands firsthand the challenges families face finding a program that caters to their child’s education requirements.
“I quickly realised that although both my own children have a similar diagnosis — their challenges and difficulties were completely different,” she said.
“This is why we decided to establish a program for children of all abilities in one place.”
The luncheon promises to be a fun event with a psychic medium, raffle prizes, auction items, and an expert panel discussing all things early intervention.
