The Gold Coast is in for a hot end to winter with unusually high temps hitting this week which may even break records.

Temps are set to reach a high of 31 degrees today with sunny conditions and a possible late storm.

Throughout the work week, the mercury will continue to soar to the high 20s to low 30s.

It’s set to be a scorching weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting temps of 33 degrees in Nerang on Saturday.

The hottest temperature on record for the Gold Coast in  August is 32.4 degrees, meaning we very well could break the record.
