Police are investigating a threat made to a Gold Coast school that forced it into lockdown.
Emergency services were called to Pacific Pines State High School around 7am on Tuesday.
In a post on social media, the school advised it is “currently an evacuation” and “this is not a drill.”
Parents and students were urged not to enter school grounds until the all-clear is given.
While classes had yet to begin for the day, it’s understood some students and teachers were already on school grounds for sports training.
Police inspected the school grounds with the lockdown lifted around 8am.
“Safety for our community is paramount where students, staff and community were all safe and accounted for during this time,” the school posted on social media.
“After the whole school was inspected by Queensland Police, we have been given the all clear, it is safe to proceed as usual for the school day.”
