Widespread rain is expected to continue today after the South East was lashed by massive thunderstorms overnight.
The severe cells began crossing the region late Wednesday afternoon before continuing through the evening.
The Scenic Rim, Logan and Ipswich appear to have copped the brunt of the wild weather, with more than 100mm of rain falling in just one hour in Logan.
On the Gold Coast, Upper Springbrook and Tallebudgera also saw falls of more than 50mm.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned the wet weather is expected to hang around until next week, with more than 140 millimetres of rain forecast for the Gold Coast over the next few days.
The South East is also facing the threat of severe thunderstorms today, which could bring heavier isolated falls.
