A man has been rushed to hospital after his motorbike collided with a car at a busy intersection on the Gold Coast.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Nielsens Road and Birmingham Road in Carrara just before 6.30pm on Wednesday.
Upon arrival, they found the rider of the bike suffering a signficant back injury.
The man, aged in his 50s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed a critical care paramedic was on board for transport.
