A Gold Coast man has revealed he had to hide his excitement after discovering he was $2 million richer while at work.
The Tallebudgera man in the middle of his weekend shift when he decided to check his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket, only to find he was one of the 15 division one winners.
Speaking with The Lotto on Monday morning, he said he was still trying to come to terms with the win.
“That’s amazing,” he shared.
“I saw the win on The Lott app while I was at work. The first thought that popped into my head was, ‘Is it real?’. I logged on about three or four times to check.
“I had to blur it out of my mind, but it was quite hard to.
“As soon as I came home, I found the ticket and gave it another check.
“That’s when it hit me. It’s awesome!
“I’ve been playing on and off for a while. We just buy tickets now and then.
“It’s hard to process at the moment. I can’t comprehend it.
“Two million dollars will make a significant difference for my family.
“We will definitely go out for some celebratory drinks tonight!”
His winning 36-game QuickPick was purchased at Spar Express Tallebudgera, Shop 5, 7 Trees Road, Tallebudgera.
