Gold Coasters are being urged to keep the brolly handy today, with the city expected to cop a drenching.
But the original forecast of 50mm of rain has been halved by the Bureau of Meteorology this morning.
According to BOM, only 25mm is now expected to fall across the city today, with the chance of a possible thunderstorm in the mix as well.
Showers will continue into Wednesday before easing on Thursday when we’re expected to go from one extreme to the other.
A heatwave is tipped to grip the southeast, including here on the Gold Coast, with a sunny top of 33 degrees forecast for Thursday.
Temps will remain in the 30s for the rest of the week and over the weekend, however, showers are on the cards every day with 15mm of rain forecast for Saturday.
