LATEST @ December 13 | It’s been revealed police had attended a Mudgeeraba home just hours before it was destroyed in a ferocious early morning blaze.

The home on Robert Street was completely gutted after flames tore through the property around 2.30am on Tuesday.

Two people inside managed to get out unharmed, with no serious injuries reported.

However, it’s since been confirmed officers had been called out to the same property several hours before the fire broke out, around 11.30pm, following reports of a disturbance.

The blaze is now being treated as suspicious.

A crime scene has been declared, with a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman continuing to assist police with inquiries.

Investigators are appealing for neighbours or witnesses to come forward.

EARLIER @ December 12 | A Gold Coast family has lost everything just two weeks before Christmas after their home went up in flames.

The blaze erupted at the property along Robert Street in Mudgeeraba around 2.30am on Tuesday.

Multiple fire crews were called to battle the flames, which proved difficult to put out due to the speed at which the fire spread.

Station manager Adam Andrew-Artha told Seven thankfully everyone managed to get out safely.

“Initial reports en route were that there were people still trapped inside, but it was established as soon as we arrived that everyone was evacuated,” he said.

Sadly, a pet remains missing.
