Two Gold Coast men are amongst a group of 11 people arrested after $4-million worth of drugs and cash was seized in raids across the southeast.
‘Operation Victor Kiri’ was launched six months ago to target gangs trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine (MDMA) throughout Brisbane’s nightclub scene.
The property raids resulted in the seizure of a whopping 33kg of MDMA, 2.3kg of cocaine, 1.5kg of crystal ice and over $1.8-million in cash.
Officers also seized eight firearms, two vehicles and drug manufacturing equipment.
The two Gold Coast men allegedly involved include a 42-year-old from Pimpama and a 35-year-old from Coomera who are both facing a string of serious charges.
Detective Inspector Glen Farmer says the operation has been a huge success, with a significant quantity of illicit drugs being removed from our community.
“This operation has resulted in the dismantling of a significant drug supply network destined for our Safe Night Out Precincts,” Detective Inspector Farmer says.
“The Queensland Police Service is dedicated to disrupting criminal activity and drug networks in our community and if people choose to get involved in the business of selling drugs, they can expect to be actively targeted by us and we make no apologies for that.”
Investigations are continuing with more arrests likely.
