Don’t be surprised if you see a few more sparkles and cowboy boots lining the terminals of Gold Coast Airport today.
The Airport is gearing up for a busy few days as thousands of Taylor Swift fans prepare to head south for the next round of the pop superstar’s concerts.
There are more than 80 flights and 15,000 seats linking Swifties between Coolangatta and Sydney over the next few days.
A Gold Coast Airport spokesperson told Hot Tomato they are expecting a surge in passenger numbers ahead of the highly-anticipated Era’s Tour hitting Sydney.
“Sydney is always a busy route for us but we do anticipate flights on this route will be much fuller than usual,” the spokesperson said.
More than 21 flights are taking off from the Gold Coast to Sydney today alone.
It comes after Queensland fans were left disappointed last year when the 14-time Grammy winner revealed she would not be bringing her tour to the sunshine state.
But it didn’t stop the dedicated Swifties from booking tickets to her southern gigs, along with flights and accommodation.
The first show kicks off at Accor Stadium tonight.
