LATEST @ 5.30 PM | Three people have been killed in two separate crashes in a horror afternoon on roads across the South East.

A motorbike and truck collided on the M1 at Nerang just before 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The rider of the bike, a man in his 60s, suffered critical injuries in the accident and sadly died at the scene.

“QPS are still trying to determine exactly what has happened,” Queensland Ambulance’s Acting Operations Supervisor James Burley said.

“Crews were initially confronted with some quite stressful scenes.”

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Just hours earlier, two people were killed in a car rollover at Stockleigh in Logan.

“Preliminary investigations indicate a vehicle travelling along Mollenhagen Road lost control and crashed near Pepperina Drive around midday,” Queensland Police said.

A teenager also travelling in the vehicle was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, while another teen is in a serious condition in a Brisbane hospital.

EARLIER @ 2.45 PM | Motorists are being urged to avoid the Pacific Motorway southbound this afternoon following a serious motorbike and truck crash.

The vehicles collided southbound near Exit 71 at Nerang just before 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Critical care paramedics, including the high acuity response unit, are currently on scene.

Grave fears are being held for the rider of the bike.

Police are warning of massive delays, with all traffic being diverted at Exit 69.

At the time of writing (3.00pm) traffic was back past Helensvale, with northbound delays also building in the area.
