Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a reported gas leak in Broadbeach.

It’s understood an underground copper pipe has ruptured along the Gold Coast Highway, sparking the emergency response.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews rushed to the scene after receiving the call just after 6am on Thursday.

Police are also on the scene and are believed to be setting up an exclusion zone whilst crews attempt to fix the issue.

Paramedics remain on standby, however, no patients have been reported at this stage.

More to come.
