Motorists are being warned of a number of road closures across the Gold Coast ahead of Anzac Day commemorations.
Several services are being held right across the city, with a number of roads set to be closed for several hours.
Police have warned motorists to expect delays, with drivers urged to allow extra time if travelling around the city on Friday.
“Services will be held across the district with a large number of people expected to participate at various events throughout the day,” Gold Coast Police said.
“The Gold Coast community can expect to see an increased presence of police across the ANZAC Day events”.

Burleigh Heads:
Road Closure – 9:00am – 11:00am
- James Street Burleigh Heads, between West Street and Connor Street.
- Connor Street, Burleigh Heads, Between James Street and Gold Coast Highway.
Currumbin: Mid morning March
Road Closure – 10:00am – 11:30am
– Eastbound Duringan Street from Pacific Motorway overpass
– Westbound Duringan Street from Fielding Street
– Thrower Drive bridge and southern Thrower Drive at intersection with Duringan Street
– Fielding Street, Philip Street and Mitchell Ave at the intersections with Duringan Street
Currumbin: Dawn Service:
Road Closure – 2:00am-8:00am
– Gold Coast Highway exits to Duringan Street and Pacific Parade
– Woodgee Street and Teemangum Street
– Murraba Street.
Mudgeeraba:
Road Closure – 2:30pm-4:00pm
Railway Street will be closed from the intersection of Mudgeeraba Road to the intersection of Swan Lane and Swan Lane to the intersection of The Link Road.
Nerang:
Road Closure – 4:15am-6:00am & 9:00am-12:00pm
Nerang Street will be closed between White Street and Ferry Street, Lavelle Street will be closed between Price Street and Nerang Street.
Pimpama:
Reduced speed zone: from 7:00am-10:00am
– Creek Street (outside Uniting Church)
Robina:
Road Closure – 8:00am-9:00am
Robina Town Centre Drive will be closed between Robina Parkway and San Antonia Court.
Runaway Bay:
Road Closure – 9:30am-10:30am
Sports Drive will be closed to the intersection at Morala Ave, Part of Morala Ave will be closed from the intersection Sports Drive to the intersection of Lae Drive. Part of Lae Drive will be closed from the intersection of Morala Ave to the second entry / exit (east) of the Municipal Library.
Southport:
Road Closure – 4:00am – 11:30am
Gold Coast Highway from Nind Street to Ada Bell Way, Southport
Springbrook:
Road Closure – 10:00am-11:00am
Forestry Road is closed to the intersection of Springbrook Road, Springbrook Road is closed to the intersection of Carrick’s Road, Carrick’s Road is closed to the Springbrook Community Centre.
Surfers Paradise:
Road Closure – 9:30am-10:30am
– Beach Road onto Hanlan Street from intersection Remembrance Drive
– Both directions on Surfers Paradise Blvd at intersection with Hanlan Street
– The Esplanade in both directions from the Soul building in the north to Trickett Street in the south
Coomera:
Road Closure – 7am-12pm
Highland Way up to the round-about towards Rose Valley Drive (up until Heatherdale Drive)
