Stuck for ideas on what to do with the kids this summer on the Gold Coast?
School aged children are invited to immerse themselves in wildlife encounters, underwater experiences and Indigenous culture through the City’s NaturallyGC program.
There are activities available across the coast from Pimpama, Benowa, Mudgeeraba Currumbin and more.
Life in the Ocean, Nature’s Arts and Craft, and Scaly Reptiles are just some of the education workshops on offer.
Mayor Tom Tate says the initiative has over 42 free or low-cost activities and workshops running from December to February.
“We want you to have the summer of fun and what better way to do this than by getting up close and personal with creepy crawlies, wildlife and nature,” Mayor Tate says.
“One of these wonderful workshops includes our Indigenous Art and Culture classes where you can experience Indigenous culture through ochre painting, fire making and boomerang throwing,
“These are unique experiences suitable for ages five and above with activities on offer for the whole family to enjoy,
“Our NaturallyGC program and all the educators involved create lasting memories where you can connect with nature on a deeper level.”
Last summer program there were over 1500 children and adults involved in the program activities.
