Four teenagers have been busted after a police chopper spotted a stolen vehicle driving recklessly across the Gold Coast.
The Nissan Navara was driving up the wrong side of the road on Ferry Road in Southport yesterday afternoon before smashing into another vehicle.
Following the crash, it’s alleged four boys fled on foot but didn’t get very far before officers caught up with them.
A 17-year-old Woodridge boy, a 16 year-old Holmview boy, a 14-year-old Labrador boy and a 19 year-old Mermaid Waters were all arrested.
They’ve been charged with a string of offences including Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, and evading police.
Further charges are expected to be laid and the four boys will appear in the Southport court this morning.
The Nissan Navara belongs to a company based in Townsville, with the owners revealing the vehicle had been stolen from Mermaid Waters but had not yet been reported.
