A report into the deadly Sea World helicopter crash will be handed down today, giving survivors and victims’ families some answers.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will release details of their preliminary investigation into the cause of the crash.
It has been looking into exactly how the two choppers collided mid-air over the Gold Coast’s Broadwater on a perfectly clear day on January 2.
The crash claimed the lives of four people, including pilot Ash Jenkinson, British tourists Diane and Ronald Hughes, and Sydney mother Vanessa Tadros.
Nine others miraculously survived the collision, including 10-year-old Nicholas Tadros, who just last week had to have his leg amputated as he continues his recovery from the disaster.
The full report will take 12 to 18 months to complete.
The operator of the choppers, Sea World Helicopters, has suspended flights while the investigation take place.
