A man has been freed from a serious crash in Tamborine.
The car crashed off Plunkett Road and into a tree at around 3.40pm, trapping the driver inside.
Two fire crews were forced to use gutting gear to rescue the man, which took around 40 minutes.
Plunkett Road is closed and traffic is being diverted.
Police have advised that heavy delays are expected and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
He’s currently being assessed by paramedics at the scene.
A QAS spokesperson couldn’t confirm his condition at this stage.
