A number of people have been taken to hospital after a massive fire broke out in a Coolangatta unit.
Emergency services from both New South Wales and Queensland were called to the block on Boundary Street around 10pm on Thursday.

When they arrived, the two storey block was fully engulfed by flames.
It’s understood NSW Police officers rushed into the building to try and evacuate the residents.
According to reports, one resident sustained injuries while trying to escape and eight officers also suffered smoke inhalation.
The resident and four of the officers have since been taken to hospital for treatment.
It took some time for fire crews to get the blaze under control and the unit block as been completely destroyed.
Investigations are now underway.
