Fire crews rescue child after basketball hoop mishap

Fire crews have been involved in a tricky rescue operation they’ll likely never forget on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Pandanus Place in Upper Coomera just after 12.30pm after a child got their head caught in a basketball hoop.

Two crews attended the property and successfully worked to free the youngster from the hoop.

Paramedics were also initially called to attend but were thankfully not needed after the child managed to escape uninjured.
