Fire crews are battling a fast-moving grass fire that’s broken out on the northern Gold Coast.

The blaze erupted in vegetation along Courtney Drive, near Baileys Mountain Road, in Upper Coomera around 12.40pm on Monday.

Seven crews are currently on scene, with another seven en route to help douse the flames.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told Hot Tomato the blaze is around 2 hectares in size.

No properties are under threat at this stage, although residents in the area are being urged to close their windows and doors due to the smoke.

Paramedics are also on scene, however, no injuries have been reported.
