LATEST @ 4.45PM Firefighters have worked to contain a massive blaze that engulfed a Burleigh Heads motorcycle workshop.
The fire broke out around 2.30pm this afternoon at the business along Dover Drive, with half a dozen crews battling to put out the flames.
Neighbouring businesses were forced to evacuate, however, thankfully there was no damage to any.
Plumes of black smoke could be seen from as far as Surfers Paradise.
QFES firefighter Glenn Gifford told Nine News the blaze is not-suspicious.
“One of the workers was heating a piece of metal and it flicked off and landed in some oil and the fire started from there,” Mr Gifford says.
“So we’re treating it as accidental.”
Mr Gifford said the heavy fuel load made the blaze very difficult to contain for firefighters.
One person suffered smoke inhalation, with paramedics transporting the person to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.
