After more than two years, the final report into what caused the deadly Sea World helicopter crash will finally be handed down today.
Four people including pilot Ashley Jenkinson, British couple Diane and Ron Hughes, and Sydney mum Vanessa Tadros were killed when two helicopters collided mid-air over the Gold Coast Broadwater in January 2023.
Six others, including two children, were seriously injured, while another three escaped with minor injuries.
The pilot of the second chopper, Michael James, miraculously managed to land his helicopter safely, however the 53-year-old sadly died of cancer just last year.
Following a major investigation, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau will deliver its final report into the crash later today.
It’s hoped the report’s findings will help prevent future aircraft tragedies from occurring.
