Thousands of locals are expected to flock to this year’s Gold Coast Careers Festival to explore future career options as well as some exciting new technology.
From May 5-7, the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre at Carrara will be jam-packed with all the information needed to plan out your career path.
High school students, parents, career changers, or those returning to the workforce can learn about studying at Griffith University, Bond University, and Southern Cross University, or learn about industry training with TAFE Queensland.
Study Gold Coast CEO Alfred Slogrove says they’re expecting around 8,000 attendees across the three days, with 41 schools registered to attend.
“We have over 50 exhibitors ranging from new technologies all the way through to existing trades and block train technology this year,” Mr Slogrove told myGC.
Some of the new technology this year includes the famous Little Ripper Lifesaving drones highlighting the many exciting career opportunities in the area of UAVs/drones.

“Drones are part of the technology movement that are changing the nature of jobs and the working landscape,” Mr Slogrove told myGC.
“It’s fantastic to have Ripper Corp involved in this year’s Gold Coast Careers Festival and I’m excited by the new careers and industry opportunities created by drone technology,” he said.
The Little Ripper drones are actively working on projects like koala counting to help track and preserve our endangered koalas, solar farm surveys, terrain mapping, and delivery of essential goods following natural disasters.
