Eight people have been caught up in a horror head-on crash between a Jeep and bus on the Gold Coast.
The Jeep Cherokee was traveling along Brisbane Road in Biggera Waters around 7pm on Tuesday when it’s believed to have lost control before crossing onto the wrong side of the road.
The vehicle then slammed into the front of an oncoming bus carrying six people.
All passengers onboard the bus, including the driver, were assessed at the scene by paramedics.
A 46-year-old woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with multiple injuries, while the driver and remaining passengers were given the all-clear.
The 25-year-old male driver of the Jeep and his 21-year-old passenger also suffered various injuries and were transproted to hospital in serious conditions.
Queensland Ambulance Service Senior Operations Supervisor Mitch Ware said it was a “chaotic scene” for emergency services.
“This is quite a busy intersection as well, so there were a lot of civilians who were witness to the incident,” Ware said.
Investigations into the circumstances leading up to the crash are ongoing.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or vision to come forward.
